Edits and Sounds

The short scene from the movie we watched in class had a lot of sound changes and different edits throughout. The main sound throughout the duration of the scene was a suspensful song which got louder and more exhilarating as the scene progressed up until a big moment, this being the heads popping up from the tree. When this happened, the sound gradually grew louder and louder up until this part, where it made a huge bang to try and frighten the audience. The sound change made a big effect and made the viewer more intrigued as to what is about to happen. The edits were used exceptionally well. They started off at a reasonable pace going slow, up until Johnny Depp started chopping at the tree looking almost scared is when the edits became quicker and less noticable showing urgencey and how he seemed frightened. These cuts went with the music and it all flowed very well.
